Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all the many blessings we have, and to find ways to give to those whose could use an extra blessing. It’s a beautiful time of year, and I enjoy having conversations about gratitude and counting of our blessings. This morning, I had a great opportunity to spread some Thanksgiving cheer while delivering food with the Meals on Wheels program through the Walker County Senior Center.
My two little munchkins decided to go with me. They were really fantastic helpers and enjoyed sharing well wishes with those who were on our route. As we left, they spoke of how good it felt to fill someone else’s “bucket” with joy and happiness. Today was a blessing for me as I watched my boys helping others!
Meals on Wheels is a wonderful way to fill a very basic need and put a smile on someone’s face at the same time. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to volunteer through this awesome service, give it a try. It is very rewarding!!
