Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was adopted as a service project in the fall of 1976, with League instructors trained in Houston by the American Heart Association. The goal of the service project was to certify at least one person in each Huntsville family.
Teaching classes began in the spring of 1977, and continued for over 10 years. The total number of persons certified by the CPR team exceeded 5,815 by the summer of 1987.
Cheers to 40 Years!
