What a beautiful day for the blessings to flow in Huntsville, Texas! It was a pleasure to work alongside many community members to help provide fresh produce to many in town who could really use the help!
In conjunction with the Huntsville Church of Christ’s clothing give away, the Huntsville Junior Service League hosted the Food Truck from the Houston Food Bank today. More than 6 pallets of fresh produce was delivered and distributed.
We had a wide range of fruits and vegetables including pears, apples, bananas, green beans, mushrooms, watermelon, cantelope, limes, and more!
Over 650 people in the community were able to benefit from this service!
As guests waited for the truck to arrive and be unloaded, they were able to take advantage of medical screenings such as blood pressure, diabetes, and other health services. Thanks to Walker County Health Initiatives!!
It was exciting to see so many volunteers come together to lend a helping hand! Thank you to the volunteers from American Heritage Girl, Alpha Omega Academy, Huntsville Church of Christ, and Civil Air Patrol group TX-177 Sam Houston Composite Squadron, and many more volunteers. The Huntsville Junior Service League could not make this event happen without the help of others. We are thrilled to have the support of so many!!
