WOW is all we can say about last week’s food truck!   WOW! WOW!  WOW!

First it was a lovely day with cooler temperatures and blue skies – both of which are greatly appreciated on food truck day.  But more importantly, we were wonderfully overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from our community in the way of volunteers!  We had more than 150 volunteers from 18 different organizations!  WOW, again!

Thank you to all who served with us…4-H of Walker County, Alpha Chi Omega SHSU Chapter, Alpha Lambda Delta SHSU Chapter, Alpha Omega Academy, American Heritage Girls, Bearkat Krew, Chi Tau Epsilon SHSU Chapter, Eta Sigma Gamma SHSU Chapter, Food Pantry at SHSU, Huntsville Hornet Baseball, Kappa Delta Chi SHSU Chapter, Key Club, National Honor Society, National Organization of Hispanics in Criminal Justice, Royalty SHSU Service Organization, SHSU Rotaract, and Zeta Tau Alpha SHSU Chapter!

A big thank you to Kroger for allowing us to borrow buggies for carrying food to the cars of our guests and to Bill Fick Ford for transporting the buggies to and from Kroger!

While waiting for the food truck our guests were able to take advantage of free medical screenings from Walker County Healthy Initiatives.

We are so happy to have been able to serve over 810 Walker County neighbors through distributing fresh produce, milk and meat from the Houston food bank!

Plus we distributed our recently made bags of ready-to-cook family sized red beans and rice. It was truly a great day of sharing!

Thank you to all who support the largest community outreach we host!  The food truck will be back on December 3^rd and Santa will be coming to deliver gifts for children to give to their parents at our Santa Shop.   Mark your calendar to be a part of this big day of blessings!
