We were so happy the rain held off for our mobile food truck delivery today!! It was nice for guests and volunteers alike!
The food truck was packed full of produce such as potatoes, carrots, onions, apples, oranges, lettuce, cabbage, mixed fruit trays, strawberries, kale, and more! Over 140 families were able to fill their baskets with fresh food to take home.
We are thankful for the support of Huntsville Church of Christ for opening their doors to the community, to HEB for allowing us to borrow grocery carts to help our guests easily get the food to their cars, and Walmart for donating bags. A special thanks to Stephanie with HEB for providing excellent education about nutrition to all in attendance.
Thanks to all who volunteered with us! We had volunteers from many organizations including Alpha Omega Academy, Lambda Theta Alpha, SHSU Football Team, Zeta Tau Alpha, American Heritage Girls, BESO, Huntsville Church of Christ, MPMS Cheerleaders, SHSU Food Pantry, and Cub Scout Pack 98.
Without the help of the community, we could not provide this much needed service. Please consider joining us at the April 7th food truck event.
