November is traditionally a time for reflecting and giving thanks for our blessings.  Huntsville JSL is always thankful to be involved with the Head Start Feed a Family event and super grateful to all the generous people who donated to help feed kids over the Thanksgiving holiday. 

Thanks to the kind people in Huntsville, we raised a RECORD $760!

That money was used to purchase food for families of children at Head Start who may need a helping hand. We were able to purchase enough groceries to make 4 complete meals plus several belly filling side items for 30 families!

We created suggested menu items and included all the ingredients and a few recipes as well! We thought long and hard and picked as many filling items as we could think of and stretched our budget to include meals like chicken spaghetti, chicken and stuffing, spaghetti, chicken alfredo, red beans and rice, mac and cheese and potatoes.

To further help feed those families, JSL matched the funds raised and purchased 10 full Thanksgiving meals from the Brookshire Brothers deli that will be given to Head Start families.  Thank you to Brookshire Brothers and their shoppers for partnering with us!
