JSL needs you to help build a playground for all!

The Huntsville Junior Service League is planning the addition of new play elements that will focus on activities that interest individuals with different abilities, sensory processing complications, and mobility challenges. The PLAY FOR ALL project is a big undertaking and we are super excited to bring inclusive play equipment to Huntsville. We are looking for partners to help raise funds to add several components where children of all abilities can play together!

The Important Details (Who, What, When, Where, How much)…

Who: Everyone! The playground additions will benefit children of all ages and abilities.

What: Play for all! An inclusive playground where all children will find equipment that fits their needs and interests. Play components will include a wheelchair friendly merry-go-round, panel maze full of manipulatives and sensory play, and musical instruments to encourage creativity.

Where: Kate Barr Ross Park. The new play structures will be installed between the two existing play spaces.

When: With a 12-week estimated completion rate once the order is placed, we would love to have all money raised by March 10.  By ordering in early March, the playground would likely be finished by the time school is out for the summer.

How much: Designs are still being finalized, but bid estimates range from $100,000-120,000.

We need help to make this inclusive play dream come true.  You can be a part by donating any dollar amount to help achieve the necessary funds. Partners who donate $1000 or more will be recognized in the signage that will be unveiled during the dedication of the playground. Contributing to our 8th Annual Mother of Pearl virtual fundraiser is also a way to support this project, as all proceeds will be going towards the PLAY FOR ALL project.
