PLAY FOR ALL is FULLY FUNDED!!!

WOW, Huntsville friends, WE DID IT! Because of the generous support of this amazing community, we have reached, actually exceeded, our goal of $120,000 for the PLAY FOR ALL inclusive playground!

A little over $126,000 was raised and will be put towards a new play space at Kate Barr Ross Park that will include pieces that encompass the needs of those with disabilities and sensory challenges and encourage all kids to play together. The play space will include a wheelchair friendly spinner, drums, xylophone, chimes, panels with sensory and motor play and a cozy spinner. Bonus…it will be covered!

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who chipped in to make this dream a REALITY! In our wildest dreams, we could not have imagined that we could raise this much money in such a short time. Thank you to all who supported our Mother of Pearl auction and raffle and past fundraisers that made it possible for JSL to donate $22,766 towards the project. The remaining $103,419 was generously donated by local businesses and individuals who joined our vision of filling a need to have a place for kids of all abilities to play with one another.  The City of Huntsville partnered with us by paying nearly $14,000 of the cost of the shade sails that will cover the playground. We are over the moon excited! Every donation…big or small…was integral in achieving this goal.

The playground was ordered on April 14th. An estimated time for completion is 8-12 weeks, so hopefully kids will be having fun on the new equipment by mid-summer. Once manufacturing is complete and a shipping date is provided, we will give an update on the ground breaking, installation, and ultimately the opening of the new area.
